Barbora Látalová, Zden Brungot Svíteková: Urban Game (Bojovka)

experiential game for families 60´ in Slovak

The dance and movement game, Bojovka, where there are no winners or losers. A play for parents with children across generations. Game is an innate human need to do something and to exert one's body and mind a little bit. Our game seeks to offer a possibility of meeting people, communicate and creatively express one's opinions and views. It will allow us to become aware of concepts such as space and time and to adopt the values of mutual relationship. Bojovka is divided into various workshops, each of which will involve specific tasks. The tasks have as many solutions as there are workshop participants. Everyone is responsible for how the game turns out and witnesses of the consequences of their own decisions. What to bring along? Comfortable clothes (not necessarily a tracksuit) and one personal possession with which you play at home. concept and realisation: Jan Bárta, Zden Brungot Svíteková, Barbora Látalová music: Václav Kalivoda [/show_more] 10.00; 13.00; 18.00; 20.30 Labyrint - centre for movement and dance [show_more more='Peter Šavel, Lucia Kašiarová, Tomáš Vtípil: Eau de Vie  ritual' less='menej' color='#000000']

Let´s experience the present moment. Let´s taste it. Let´s smell it. Let´s listen to it. Let´s see it. Maybe it will touch us. Eau de Vie is not a performance. Eau de Vie is a shared event. The condition for creating this event is a group, space and the will to experience something together. The moment changes according to the group and space. Two dancers and one musician research the rules of an event, which are ceaselessly changing. The only certainty are the inspirations by Frida Kahlo, Japanese geishas, samurais and haiku. Eau de Vie is a journey. A journey via the others towards ourselves and vice versa. concept, performed by: Lucia Kašiarová, Peter Šavel live music: Tomáš Vtípil light: Zuzana Režná produced by: danceWATCH / Karolína Hejnová premiere: 10. 12.  2016, Studio ALTA, Prague (Czech Republic) www.dancewatch.cz   [/show_more] 11.00 ParkStan [show_more more='DiscoForum' less='menej' color='#000000']

“New Spectator” – the art of insight To ask about the role of the contemporary spectator is only possible based on the spectator paradox, well-known in theater theory – namely, that without a spectator, there is no theater. What kind of spectator is being formed by the theater-performance scene today, and what is the spectators' experience with this scene? Are spectators supposed to only watch or is their position to be changed completely into that of participants, and what does that mean? Should they keep the distance or lose it? Should theater be the place of representation or communication? What is a creator trying to achieve if they strive to draw the spectator in and how does the spectator react? With the anniversary year of the festival, we introduce a new discussion format which will not involve evaluation, critique or analysis of performances – although they can be referred to – but rather a lively discussion on the topic of the position of spectator in the contemporary theater and performance art. Let us meet primarily as those who watch and have their own experience with this position. The two discussion blocks do not aim to find a common consensus or to persuade anyone. The goal is to inspire each other. [/show_more] 11.00 - 19.00 Nová synagóga [show_more more='Mária Júdová, Andrej Boleslavský: Dust VR dance performance' less='menej' color='#000000']

VR dance performance no language barrier

DUST is a VR art project that aims to transform the way people see and experience contemporary dance through a 5 minutes long immersive virtual reality experience and an interactive website. The project explores the boundaries between the virtual and the real-world experiences and advances research in the fields of participatory performance, human-computer-interaction and VR technologies. In DUST, the audience uses a Virtual Reality (VR) headset to place themselves in the immediate presence of the dancer and within a unique visual and aural scenario, which has been created by capturing volumetric recordings of dancers and photogrammetric imagery of Rambert’s building. The resulting effect is exhilarating, allowing the audience to experience the work from different perspectives and within the space where the dance is happening. DUST creates an emotional connection between the audience and the dancers, and between the audience and the digitally reconstructed architecture. It is dance as no audience member has ever experienced before. The project is a demonstration of what dance, performance, film and sound could become in the future of VR. concept, directing, IT: Mária Júdová and Andrej Boleslavský produced by: Carmen Salas www.vrdust.org.uk www.mariajudova.net www.id144.org

Denkzeug / Archimera a hostia: Sound of Aula (Zvuk Auly)

theatre-musical experiential evening 60´ in Slovak

The Sound of Auditorium presents a visual-documentary collage about the status quo of the university students today. It takes their perspective and ambitions in order to discuss about the role of culture, authorities and inspiration. As a top-level educational institution, the university is supposed to encompass all these phenomena in order to form and develop the students' talents. The space of an occasional university auditorium of the City Council in Žilina itself becomes a stage for reflective and critical theatre – an arena for symbolic depictions of timeless as well as current social processes, absurdities and humour.
The Sound of Auditorium originated as an intermedia musical-theatrical performance, which works with the unique character of architectonic spaces of university auditoriums. The auditoriums as symbolic and ceremonial spaces impress with their scale and artistic rendition which emphasizes its meaning for the society. However, these spaces remain hidden from the general public behind the facades of known buildings. This performance brings a way to make these unknown places of university ceremonies available again. The project was originally conceived as a site-specific project for the auditoriums of Slovak Technical University in Trnava (architect Maxim Čabelka), Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Slovak Technical University in Bratislava (architect Martin Kusý) and the auditorium of Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra (architect Vladimír Dedeček and Rudolf Miňovský). The Žilina performance cannot take place in a real auditorium as those in the city have become the subject of thermal insulation or deconstruction. These facts are more than just a mere commentary on the status of university education outside of the centres.

How do children look at their lives today? What would they say about themselves and about the people around the world to someone who lives on another planet or in outer space? How would they describe or simply explain what dance is? What questions would they ask? This short documentary is for adults and children who love sci-fi, dance and other adventures. The documentary was created by elementary school pupils in the first and second grade in cooperation with dancer and choreographer Tereza Ondrová, director Petra Tejnorová, cameramen Marek Bartoš and Dominik Žižka and producer Lucie Račková.
